Thumb-stop

The moment a scrolling viewer stops on your ad – what the hook and the first frame have to achieve.

“Thumb-stopping” describes a first frame that interrupts the scroll: movement, a face looking into the camera, an unexpected object, on-screen text inside the safe zone. It is measured in practice by the hook rate.
